Coaches/Players Sidelines

There should be no adults except for the approved SafeSport coaches on the players sidelines. This is for the children's safety.

It is our Club's responsibility to create the proper environment for play and to decrease confusion for the players on the field on game day.

It keeps kids away from unvetted people, helps the referees (is the coach yelling or some crazy person?), and helps to prevent anyone interfering with the coaches, the refs, and the game.

Below are a few additional reminders regarding sideline etiquette to help create a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment for all players, coaches, referees, and spectators.

Spectator Areas

To ensure the safety of everyone on and around the field, please observe the following guidelines:

  • Remain at least 5 to 10 feet away from the touchline (sideline) and corner flags whenever possible.
  • Do not stand along the end lines or directly behind the goals.
  • Spectators should watch from the opposite side of the field from the players and coaches whenever field layouts allow.
  • Keep clear of designated player, coach, and referee areas.

Sideline Expectations

We ask all spectators to help promote a positive game-day experience by:

  • Cheering for all players in a respectful manner.
  • Allowing coaches to coach and players to make decisions on the field.
  • Avoiding running or pacing up and down the sidelines during play.
  • Refraining from coaching players from the sidelines or from behind the goals.
  • Giving players enough space to safely take throw-ins, corner kicks, and participate in the game without interference.

Creating a Positive Environment

Our goal is to provide a fun, supportive atmosphere where players can learn, grow, and enjoy the game. Your cooperation helps ensure that our fields remain safe and welcoming for everyone involved.

Thank you for your support and for helping make EHSC a positive experience for all participants.
