Soccer Referees Needed!

**Referees are a critical part of every soccer game!**
The club needs referees in order to assign the proper number of referees to all games.

Both adults and teenagers (must be 13) are encouraged to become referees. The CT State Referee Program wants to certify more adult referees. Refereeing is a great way for parents to get more involved with youth soccer!

FAQs

I am interested in becoming a certified referee so I can officiate games for EHSC and other clubs around the state. Where/How do I get certified?

For both Recreational and Travel games with EHSC, you must be a certified referee.

Certification requirements:

  • At least 13 years old, AND
  • Successfully complete the new referee grassroots training course, and other CSRP requirements (attending annual briefing meeting and complete on-field sessions).
  • NOTE: Certified referees must RE-CERTIFY every year and pay the annual fee to retain certification. If you do not re-certify, you will lose your certification and cannot be assigned to any games.

How do I get certified as a Soccer Referee?

The New Referee Training Process is a combination of an On-Line Training Course to be completed at your own pace and attendance of an in-person session of 3 hours.
